Private Teacher (1983)

A female tutor manages to "broaden the horizons" of a shy and withdrawn young man. He then gets the courage to hit on his young female neighbor duo, but gets taken advantage of in his sleep by an older neighbor.

If you were making a movie that catered to the mature woman/younger man fantasy, you could go through the whole array of performers who have appeared in feature-length adult videos and not find anyone better to cast than the fabulous Kay Parker and a youthful Tom Byron. Luckily for us somebody did the right and logical thing here.

Tom's aunt is Honey Wilder, another "mature" wonder. (In porno terms that means over 30.) She's concerned about the way her nephew is behaving, locking himself in his room and not coming out. That's because he's spying on some neighbors across the way, two stewardesses who unwind on layovers by engaging in wild sex play. They are played by Joanna Storm and Laurie Smith, another pieceof inspired (and logical) casting. An eager Paul Thomas will go along with whatever they want, including wearing a bunny suit! This does come off before any sex scene begins, be assured.

The humor here is on the loony side. It's not classic Marx Brothers, but what do you really expect? An example: Auntie turns on the TV to find that a documentary about sex is showing. Eric Edwards is a literal talking head--and body--that comes right out of the set and illustrates hands-on what he's been talking about. It's so ridiculous you can't help but be amused.

Honey hires a private tutor for her boy in hopes of bringing him out of his shell. When she arrives, Kay Parker contributes any seriousness this movie might have. She quotes Shakespeare and speaks of philosophy, and soon any trace of shyness or social awkwardness that Tom had vanishes. Their love scene is a highlight, prime rewind material.

Janey Robbins is also a welcome presence here, as a friend of Honey's who has her own eye on sonny. This is a fun and sexy production without any weak links in the cast.

The Devil in Miss Jones Part II (1982)

Justine Jones, in a continuation of The Devil in Miss Jones, Part 1 (1973), is frustrated in hell. She makes a sexual deal with the Devil himself to earn a return to earth as an immortal human. However, in earning her escape, Lucifer falls in love with her. He doesn't want her to go but can't admit it because he's the Devil. The story gets underway as he tries to place her soul in nubile bodies on earth that are increasingly removed from opportunities for sex, in order to jealously deny her the one thing she craves. He finally tries the body of a nun, but this brings him into conflict with HIM, resulting in a humorous finale.

Alice in Wonderland: An X-Rated Musical Fantasy (1976)

TV star Kristine DeBell of "The Young & Restless" scorches the screen in the classy cassette release of Carroll classic with a twist of X.

Several years ago, amid great (and deserved) hoopla, Bill Osco, that San Francisco-based titan of primordial porn, release the first nudie-pornie musical, Alice in Wonderland. Rated R and full of lush sets and plush ladies, the flick featured a relative unknown, Kristine DeBell, as Lewis Carroll's classic heroine.

Alice in Wonderland was a slick production as you will ever find in X-land. Accomplished actors in non-sex roles, a spectacular score and truly clever songs, a highly sophisticated script all helped to make the film a highly entertaining softcore romp.

As a testament to the professionalism of Alice, young Kristine De Bell, a somewhat wooden actress at the time, went on to become a popular TV star. She's currently a featured performer on the day-time sudser, "The Young and the Restless." Kristine had the perfect "look" for Alice, a strong childish body and a convincingly stumbling innocence. In the porn business, Alice has always been written off as a sexploitation film, not a real honest-to-Goldstein fuckflick. And DeBell has protected her rep as a legit actress by pointing to the softcore nature of its presentation.

In truth, the film may be as slick and funny as say, Tony Newley's "Hieronymus Merkin." The writers, lyricists, the choreographers, the art directors all did Studio-quality work. In short, the actual quality of this production is so far superior to anything before it that it stands as a landmark in the history of adult films. That is not to say that there haven't been other excellent blue movies, but nobody has tried anything so complicated, ambitious and large-scale as Alice and succeeded so nicely.



For years, whenever anybody complimented Alice or waxed poetic on Kristine De Bell's lively performance and well-turned limbs, the standard response was: "Nudity. Simulation. suggestion. It was not an X. It was a movie."

"Going for it" does not include participating in the antiquated notion of the casting couch. "I would never suck my way to the top; you can get more from people by just being straight."

Although she's only been in porn for one year, Honey already has a list of credits that are quite impressive. In addition to her role in Wild Dallas Honey, Honey also starred in Taboo 2, Society Affairs and Satisfactions. Her performance in Society Affairs was memorable, to say the least. When asked whether Harry Reems was as good a lay as his reputation would have you believe, Honey replied dreamily, "He certainly was to me!"
